I am currently serving as a Professor in the Department of Orthopedic Surgery at Tokyo Medical University Ibaraki Medical Center. I completed my M.D. at the University of Tsukuba in 1996 and earned my Ph.D. in Medicine from the Graduate School of Comprehensive Human Sciences at the same university in 2009. My postdoctoral training included a fellowship at the Orthopedic Biomechanics Laboratory, Mayo Clinic, from 2006 to 2008. My professional journey began as a Resident in the Department of Orthopedic Surgery at Tsukuba University Hospital, followed by a staff position at Ibaraki Seinan Medical Center Hospital. I served as the Head Physician at Tsukuba Medical Center Hospital before becoming an Assistant Professor and later a Professor at Tokyo Medical University Ibaraki Medical Center. I have been fortunate to receive several awards throughout my career, including the Best Poster Award at the Orthopedic Research Society's Annual Meetings and the Patrick Kelly Fellowship from the Mayo Clinic. My research interests primarily focus on surgical techniques, biomechanics, hand surgery, and nerve repair. I hold several patents, including those for a system for analyzing carpal tunnel using ultrasound imaging and an automatic vibratory equipment for strain measurement. In my teaching role, I regularly supervise outpatient clinics, perform surgical procedures, and train residents. I am actively involved in treatment planning and assessment, and I organize research meetings to foster academic growth. With more than 155 published papers, my work aims to bridge innovative research with practical applications to enhance patient outcomes. My commitment to advancing orthopedic surgery and contributing to medical science remains steadfast, as I continue to strive for excellence in my field.
