Koji Fujita
Dr. Koji Fujita is a distinguished medical professional currently serving as a Professor at the Open Innovation Center at Institute of Science Tokyo (formerly Tokyo Medical and Dental University, became a new university this year). His primary focus is on clinical and research about AI in the field of orthopedic surgery. Dr. Fujita graduated from TMDU with a Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) degree in 2002 and earned his Ph.D. in Medicine in 2011. His postgraduate experience includes a tenure at the Mayo Clinic's Endocrine Research Unit, where he conducted significant research in osteoporosis. Upon returning to Japan, he joined the Hiroshima Hand Surgery and Microsurgery Institute at Tsuchiya General Hospital. In 2015, Dr. Fujita became an Associate Professor in the Department of Orthopedic Surgery at TMDU, where he led clinical and educational activities as the head of the Hand Surgery Unit and directed research as the Principal Investigator of the Motion Analysis laboratory. Dr. Fujita is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon, hand surgeon, and a certified physician with the Japanese Osteoporosis Society. His publication record includes over 83 peer-reviewed English-language papers, with key studies published in prestigious journals such as Nature and Nature Medicine.
