Dr. Chang assumed the role of attending surgeon within the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery at National Taiwan University Hospital in 2015. Graduating from National Taiwan University Medical College in 2007, he completed his Orthopaedic Surgery residency at National Taiwan University Hospital in 2014. Achieving Orthopaedic Surgery Board Certification in 2014, he furthered his expertise by becoming qualified as a Specialist in Surgery of the Hand in 2015. With a focus on disorders affecting the upper extremity, encompassing the hand, wrist, elbow, and shoulder, Dr. Chang possesses specialized clinical training. His expertise lies in employing minimally-invasive and arthroscopic techniques for a spectrum of upper extremity conditions, including fractures, arthritis, tendon and ligament injuries, and nerve compression disorders. Dr. Chang's dedication extends beyond clinical practice to the realm of research. He actively explores the advancement of arthroscopic and minimally-invasive surgical methodologies for managing upper extremity disorders. Additionally, he delves into the utilization of biodegradable polymers in treating bone defects and basal joint arthritis. His research contributions have been showcased through numerous presentations at regional, national, and international conferences, reflecting his commitment to sharing knowledge and advancing medical science. In recognition of his accomplishments, Dr. Chang was honored with the prestigious American Society for Surgery of the Hand (ASSH) international traveling fellowship in September/October 2017. Moreover, he served as a Visiting Scholar at the Hand & Upper Limb Center at Stanford University in USA from 2019 to 2020, learning from the famous Professor Jeffrey Yao and his team for upper limb surgery and basic research. Dr. Chang actively engages with professional associations, including the Taiwan Orthopaedic Association, the Taiwan Society for Surgery of the Hand, the American Society for Surgery of the Hand, and the Asian-Pacific Wrist Association, further contributing to the global exchange of expertise and advancements in orthopaedic surgery.
