Dr. Pankaj Ahire, an accomplished Orthopaedic Surgeon with specialized training in Hand and Reconstructive Microsurgery, brings over two decades of experience in the field. Currently serving as a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon with a focus on trauma and an expertise in Hand and Upper Limb Surgery, Dr. Ahire operates a private practice in Mumbai.
Dr. Ahire's journey into orthopaedics began with a residency program at Topiwala National Medical College & B.Y.L. Nair Charitable Hospital, Mumbai, where he gained comprehensive training under the mentorship of Dr. C.A. Talwalkar. He completed his Master of Surgery in Orthopaedics from T N Medical College, Mumbai, followed by a Fellowship in Hand & Reconstructive Microsurgery at Ganga Hospital, Coimbatore, India, under the guidance of Dr. S. Raja Sabapathy.
During his tenure as a Lecturer (Assistant Professor) at LTMG Hospital & Medical College, Mumbai, Dr. Ahire significantly contributed to trauma care and surgical education. His expertise expanded further after a brief observer stint at CMK Hand Surgery Center, Louisville, Kentucky.
In his private practice spanning over 25 years, Dr. Ahire has performed over a wide array of surgeries such as wrist arthroscopy, complex wrist trauma, congenital anomalies, upper extremity soft tissue reconstructions, brachial plexus surgery, and more. He maintains active engagement in academic pursuits, presenting papers and delivering lectures at national and international conferences.
Dr. Ahire's commitment to education and skill advancement is evident through his involvement as faculty in various courses and conferences, both nationally and internationally. He has held esteemed positions in professional organizations and played pivotal roles in organizing conferences and courses.
As a leader in the field, Dr. Ahire has served in several leadership capacities, including President-Elect and Vice President of the Indian Society for Surgery of the Hand, Executive Council member of APFSSH. He remains committed to learning and teaching the advances in wrist and Hand surgery on a global platform.
