Wrist injuries, particularly those involving significant soft tissue loss or damage to tendons, bones, or carpal bones, can have devastating functional consequences. Flap reconstruction offers a valuable approach to restoring tissue integrity and function in these cases. This lecture will provide an overview of various flap options for wrist reconstruction, including pure soft tissue flaps, simultaneous tendon and bone reconstruction flaps, and carpal bone reconstruction flaps. We will discuss the advantages and limitations of each approach, as well as key considerations for flap selection, surgical technique, and postoperative management.
