Introduction
To explore the surgical method and efficacy of wrist arthroscopy-assisted minimally invasive bone grafting combined with robot-guided internal fixation in the treatment of scaphoid fracture nonunion
Materials and Methods
From December 2019 to October 2023, 12 cases of old scaphoid fractures were treated with wrist arthroscopy-assisted minimally invasive bone grafting and navigation internal fixation. All 12 patients had scaphoid fracture nonunion, and none were complicated by scapholunate separation and scapholunate separation. The proximal pole of the bone collapses. All patients were evaluated based on preoperative imaging examinations for scaphoid fracture displacement, fracture end sclerosis, and bone resorption defects. During the operation, the sclerotic bone was removed from the mid-carpal joint approach and then bone grafted, followed by robotic navigation and internal fixation. The Mayo scores and VAS scores of the patients before and after surgery were collected, and the data between the two groups were compared using one-way analysis of variance. P < 0.05 was considered a statistically significant difference
Results
All 12 patients were followed up for 6 to 15 months, with an average of (11.1±4.2) months. All patients achieved bone healing at the last follow-up, with Mayo wrist score (89.4±5.8), compared with the preoperative score (52.2±6.7) (t =19.8, P <0.001), 10 cases had excellent results, and 2 had good scores. example. The VAS score dropped from preoperative (5.2±0.7) to (1.6±0.7) (t =15.6, P<0.001)
Conclusions
Wrist arthroscopy-assisted minimally invasive treatment of scaphoid fracture nonunion is an effective treatment option. Using wrist arthroscopy to remove sclerotic bone and remove iliac bone fragments for bone grafting and robot-guided internal fixation can achieve ideal clinical results
