Distal radius fractures are one of the most common injuries seen by orthopedists. When malunion happens, this can potentially be debilitating. Malunions often require surgical correction, with corrective osteotomy being the mainstay treatment. Corrective osteotomy surgery can be technically demanding and unpredictable. We present current methods to try to simply this surgery as well as our own alternative technique to perform corrective osteotomies for extra-articular or minimally displaced articular distal radius malunion.
